“Wordsworth’s Intimations of Immortality” with Coach Cary Bayer
England’s Poet Laureate had a very refined sensibility, particularly to Nature, that enabled him to gain glimpses of celestial light. In his famous poem, “Lines Written a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey,” he gives expression to what looks remarkably like the Samadhi of the yogis as described in the Bhagavad Gita. In arguably the Romantic poet’s greatest poem, “Ode on the Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of Early Childhood,” he talks about his youthful tastes of the invisible world, and the sense of immortality that it engendered. This talk will show William Wordsworth to be one of the true visionary poets of the English language.
Cary Bayer is the author of Literary Yoga: Writers & Higher Consciousness and Higher Self Meditations; a former teacher of TM; and the founder of Higher Self Healing Meditation.
