“The Comic & the Cosmic” with Cary Bayer
“Time spent laughing is time spent with the gods.”―Japanese proverb
The relationship between the comic spirit and the cosmic spirit may be more similar than the one ‘s’ that separates their spelling. Many saints and wisdom teachers have brought to light the connection between the two; as the French philosopher Voltaire put it, “God is a comedian playing to audience who’s afraid to laugh.” In this talk, we’ll discover that the bliss of the Absolute that overflows from the core of our being as laughter lies both within us and in each and every moment of time. Comedians are adept at finding that playfulness. The Vedic wisdom books of India talk about Lila, the divine playfulness of the Absolute. They further go on to reveal that the very impulse to create the world itself came about as one of joy overflowing. We’ll balance the quotes from sages with jokes from comics who saw into the essence of Reality to the play that underlies our lives.
Cary Bayer is author of five full-length humor books, including Spiritual Lampoons, as well as the mini-book Cosmic Jokes: An Etherful of Spiritual Humor. His stand-up comedy act as the Wise Guy Swami was called “The Lost Teachings of the Oy Veda,” from which a mini-book of the same title was created. On a more serious note, he’s also the author of Higher Self Meditations; a former teacher of Transcendental Meditation; and the founder of Higher Self Healing Meditation. Angel Light is a “Gift from the Spirit” to purify, balance and integrate chakras and help us connect to guardian angels and guides for Love and support on our spiritual path. This Workshop consists of: 1-Sacred initiation ceremony; 2-Angelic Merge meditation by Linda Dillon, Channel for the Council of Love; 3-How to practice Angel Light for self-healing and healing others, remote healing, as an add-on technique with other healing modalities. No prior experience is required, only the sincere desire to heal Oneself and humanity.
