“NIRVĀṆA ṢATKAM – SIX VERSES ON NIRVĀṆA”
with Jane (Janani) Cleary

Nirvāṇa Ṣatkam – is a small text of only six verses that completely reveals and delivers the message of what it means to recognize that the freedom and well-being that everyone seeks is an already accomplished fact but simply not recognized. It’s something like the key that a person carries in a pocket yet searches all over the house looking for it. Set to a melodic and very soothing tone, the verses that will be presented in this talk will unfold the all-encompassing vision of oneself as one who is free and abiding, full and complete.

As a yoga teacher in New York City, Janani’s discovery of Vedanta occurred quite by accident when she met Swami Chinmayananda and was persuaded by him to fully explore what is behind the practice of yoga. She traveled to Sandeepany Sadhanalya in Mumbai where, under the brilliant tutelage of Pujya Swami Dayananda, Janani completed a full course of study and received certification in 1978. She has been actively and successfully teaching Vedanta classes in numerous formats ever since.
