Class Update
A Message From Brian Burns, President of the Theosophical Society (T.S.) of Miami-Deerfield Beach/South Florida: Dear Members and Friends, We are living in a moment in time when our society is constantly feeding us a diet of fear and anxiety. We do not have to eat that dish! In many of his statues, the Buddha is depicted with his right hand pointing straight up. That gesture represents what he is telling us, “Be without fear.” As spiritual practitioners, it is our duty and purpose to face all situations with an attitude of fearless optimism and that is the way we look towards our Spring semester here at the Theosophical Society. We are approaching this coming season with new speakers and exciting events so please stay without fear and know the Theosophical Society is an Oasis away from fear and anxiety. NAMASTE

As noted by past President of T.S., Annie Besant, “Many of us practice this mode of living in and relating to the world by assisting in the relief of suffering within humanity. And by joining hands within a common organization we are able to share much more fully, as a cohesive unit of one living and walking the talk of what H.P. Blavatsky termed as ‘Theosophy’ in 1875.”

We will also honor members who have made their transition, for various reasons, over the past three years. Share your memories of Juliet Cardillo, Loretta Giannazzo, Sy Ginsburg, Carol Hurd, Lee Mendelson, and Edgar Quiroga.

“Nature: Mirror for Human Nature and Conduit for Healing, Inspiration and Transport” with Jane Ellen Glasser
Jane Ellen will share themes of Nature from her collections of poems as seeds to generate reflection and dialogue.
Jane Ellen’s poetry has appeared in national journals, such as Hudson Review, Southern Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, and Georgia Review. A reviewer and editor of poetry books for the Virginian-Pilot, Ghent Quarterly and Lady Jane’s Miscellany, she also co-founded the nonprofit arts organization and journal New Virginia Review. Jane won the Tampa Review Prize for Poetry 2005 for her collection Light Persists, and The Long Life won the Poetica Publishing Company Chapbook Contest in 2011. This class will be more of a seated, meditative session.
Ken Frankel is trained in qigong, has been practicing it for over twenty years, and has taught classes for the Miami/Deerfield Theosophical Society. He currently serves on the Board as Vice President 2.
There is no charge for any of our programs. We operate entirely by donations to balance giving and receiving and to continue our work of spreading the message of theosophy. All donations are tax deductible under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, section 501(c) (3).
